Prep IV slept really well despite the high winds whistling down the Menai Straits. The 7 am alarm sounded and it was time for their greatest challenge of the trip: packing their bags and stripping their bedding. After 90 minutes of finding duvets and pillows in the laundry basket and finding random socks, fleeces and towels that belonged to Mr. Nobody we were finally ready for breakfast.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Cereal, toast, sausage, egg and beans (with vegan and vegetarian options), bagels, washed down by juice was on the menu. The staff have been very helpful and welcoming in the dining hall and around the site which has been lovely.

Our morning activity was attempting the large indoor climbing wall. This was an excellent suggestion as the rain poured outside. The children started on the lower sections of the wall before the more confident children started to venture higher and higher! This was a great experience for all taking some out if their comfort zones in a very safe environment.

A two course cooked lunch refilled the fuel tanks before the cases were packed on to the mini bus and we bid farewell to our excellent instructors and welfare staff. We will return!

The volume of the children was certainly quieter on the way home with several children nodding off no doubt dreaming of adventures on the high seas and their next climbing adventure when they will push their confidence and self-expectations even more next time.

Our thanks go to Mrs Booth and Mrs Rooney for their hard work, patience, professionalism, energy and good humour on the trip.

Prep IV reach for the stars – well, the top of the climbing wall…
