Our Prep III trip to Tatton Park was a fantastic opportunity to step back in time and experience life as an Anglo-Saxon!
Throughout the day, we took part in a variety of exciting hands-on activities. We learned how wheat was threshed and ground into wheat and the hard work involved in producing food. We explored Anglo-Saxon weapons and found out how warriors prepared for battle. One of the highlights was practising battle formations and learning traditional chants, which made us feel like part of an Anglo-Saxon army!
We also tried weaving colourful braids to take to market, helping us understand the importance of trade and craftsmanship in Anglo-Saxon society. Another activity involved learning how every part of an animal was used in daily life, from clothing and tools to household items, showing how resourceful people had to be.
During our busy day of learning, we enjoyed our lunch outdoors and had time for a quick play with our friends before continuing our adventures.
It was a wonderful day filled with learning, teamwork and fun, and we all came away knowing much more about Anglo-Saxon life.
