Today we celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough – a truly inspirational figure whose passion for the natural world has educated generations across the globe.
As part of the National Curriculum for Prep V, the children learn about an inspirational scientist each year. This year, Miss McEvoy chose Sir David Attenborough, and at the beginning of the academic year the class spent time researching his life, achievements and dedication to conservation and the environment.
Miss McEvoy carefully compiled the children’s work into a special booklet and sent it to him, along with a letter explaining the project and showcasing the pupils’ thoughtful research and creativity. We were delighted to receive a wonderful handwritten reply from Sir David himself – a moment that has truly inspired the children and made their learning experience unforgettable.
Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David, and thank you for continuing to inspire curiosity, care for our planet and a lifelong love of learning.
