On a glorious hot and sunny Thursday, our Prep IV Netball team travelled to Queen’s Chester to take part in the U9 Independent Schools Tournament.
In their first match against King’s Chester, our players dominated the game and secured a 3–1 win, with outstanding play from Zara and Albie. The second match saw us face MHSG in a close and competitive game, with several near misses from Theo. Unfortunately, we narrowly missed out on the win by just one goal.
With heads up and a game-focused attitude, the team then faced Cheadle Hulme. They proved to be a strong side and won by two goals. After a well-earned lunch and a team chat, the players returned to the court to face Bury Grammar School, where they secured a fantastic victory with some great shooting from Tutu.
Our winning streak continued against Birkenhead, with Isabelle, Max and Ayesha all showing great improvement in their netball skills and teamwork.
The final match of the day was against Merchant Taylors. Despite some tired legs, the team found their last reserves of energy and determination – the Bridgewater way – and finished the day with a convincing 4–0 win, including a brilliant goal from Roshan.
It was a really strong performance from all the players. They held their own against some very strong teams, and Mrs. Tunney was incredibly proud of everyone.
