Prep V have had an action-packed afternoon and evening at the Conway Centre! After a smooth journey, we arrived on time, enjoyed a tour of the site and were more than ready for our packed lunch. After lunch, we got prepped and ready for our raft-building activity. Great teamwork was on show as the children worked together to build two rafts, with Roshan able to join in, despite his sprained ankle, using his specially adapted wheelchair.
Then came the moment of truth — would all that hard work pay off, and would the rafts actually float with the children on board? As you can see from the photos, we had success! After plenty of fun on the rafts, many children were keen to take the opportunity to jump into the water. There were lots of whoops and cheers as they encouraged and supported their friends.
After a delicious evening meal and some time playing on the field, it was time for our campfire. There is nothing better than finishing a busy day with a camp fire, toasted marshmallows and a sing-song! Note for Mrs. Sherlock-Platt – Mr. Connolly, whose dulcet tones could be heard ringing around the centre in the darkness, seems to be a perfect candidate for helping with the Prep. Choir when he gets back to school!
Time for bed now, and hopefully a good night’s sleep before another morning of fun and adventure tomorrow!
