Prep IV were up before the Skylarks this morning as the children discussed who had had the least sleep with the conclusion it had to be Mrs Rooney, Mrs Booth and Mr Rooney!

Bags were packed efficiently in most cases and rooms were ready for inspection. Breakfast was served at 8.15 which was superb with lots of choice and ample helpings.

The children then headed to the quayside to prepare for canoeing. The teachers and experts were impressed with the children’s teamwork once again. Canoes were tied together impeccably and the adventure began. The children worked together in the quay overcoming various challenges with their adult on board before heading to the amazing Menai Straits to find a mysterious cave. Everyone steered in to the cave and came up with many theories what it was used for. It turned out to be Lord Anglesey’s swimming pool many years ago.

The clearing away of the canoes was even more impressive than the set up. These children have really matured as a class in 2 days! Maybe the inspiration was the lovely lunch awaiting in the dining hall.

Mr Rooney received assistance from some willing helpers and the mini buses were ready for the journey on schedule. We were all so sad to leave such an exciting place and keen to come again very soon!

Mr Rooney would like to praise all off the children and thank Mrs Booth, Mrs Rooney, Mr Suter, Miss Gregory, Mr Connolly and Mrs Davies for their support, good humour and hard work making this trip so special for the 3 attending classes.
