Reception Class had a blooming marvellous time this week during a special gardening session led by Mr. Suter. With sunshine and smiles all around, the children eagerly got stuck in and discovered that gardening isn’t just about plants – it’s also about looking after our planet.

Mr. Suter sparked their curiosity by showing them how old wellies can be transformed into quirky, eco-friendly plant pots – simply by adding a hole in the bottom for drainage. The children loved the idea of recycling and couldn’t wait to see the boots filled with colourful blooms!

Next came a mini treasure hunt! Mr Suter challenged the budding gardeners to uncover the bulbs planted by the Gardening Club earlier in the year. With great care (and a lot of enthusiasm), they dug through the soil, collected the hidden bulbs, and prepared the wellies for a fresh start.

After filling the wellies with new soil, the children planted vibrant new flowers and gave them a good watering. Now, they’re keeping a close eye on their green creations and can’t wait to watch them grow and blossom over the coming weeks.

What a fantastic way to get hands dirty and learn about nature!
