As part of our World Book Day celebrations, our Prep V children enjoyed a visit to Reception class to share their wonderful handwritten stories with younger pupils, all inspired by the much-loved children’s book Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell.

Prep V used their creativity to write their stories with some of the titles being:

Dear Disney

Dear Dino World

Dear Animal Shelter

Dear Deep Dark Wood

Dear Farmer

The pupils took great pride in presenting their finished stories, complete with neat handwriting and colourful illustrations. They were excited (and a little nervous!) to read their stories aloud to the younger children.

Reception children listened beautifully, laughed and could not wait to lift the flaps whilst the Prep V children read. It was lovely to see both classes so engaged and excited about books and storytelling.

The experience was not only a chance for Prep V to celebrate their hard work, but also a wonderful way to share their love of reading and writing with others in the school.
