On Friday, our extremely excited Prep III and IV football team travelled to the Manchester City training ground for a tournament. With twenty teams in the tournament, the team played extremely well together and reached the semi-final, where they eventually fell to defeat by one goal against Cheadle Hulme. Given the standard of play from the team, Mrs. Tunney struggled to single out one Player of the Tournament due to the effort and performance from all players. Well done to Joe who was the top goal scorer, Albie who was outstanding in defence and to Dexter who made some great saves in goal, so much so that he attracted the attention of the watching MCFC goalkeeping coach. The boys also got the chance to meet one of City’s premiership players, who took the time to pose for a photo with the lads – possibly the most exciting moment of the day for the boys! The boys were impeccably behaved, and did themselves and the school proud. Well done!
