Prep III spent the day sorting through rubbish at the Sharston Recycling Centre.

We followed the journey of our mixed recycling bin to discover the complex process our bottles, tins, yoghurt pots and more go through once we throw them away. It was surprisingly intricate! Giant magnets were used to sort steel cans, and a laser beam separated opaque bottles from transparent ones. The whole experience was fascinating. A real highlight of the day, though, was spotting a humongous spider in the classroom!

What a ‘rubbish’ day!
