The RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park saw the culmination of seven months of planning and preparation as our Junior Gardeners and Art Club participants finally got to show off the fruits of their labours.  On Wednesday 21st July the show opened to RHS members, and from then on to members of the general public.  It’s not known just how many visitors came and saw our garden – those that did see it in person would be supplemented by the huge number who caught a brief glimpse of it on the BBC 2 Tatton Park programme  during the week.  We received nothing but positive feedback from visitors, and were very proud of the Merit we received for our garden.  The children that came to the show to talk to visitors (thank you parents for bringing them!) about our garden were a real credit to the school, not least in that they all gave up time during their holidays (and special mention to Raj, who came on his birthday!).  Adam particularly enjoyed presenting – several visitors felt he one be one to watch as a future Gardeners’ World presenter given his enthusiasm!

An extremely positive experience all round – well done to all the children involved, both in the Gardening Club and Art Club.  A big thank you must go to Mrs. Chilton, Mrs. Seward and Miss Kelso, who guided the children in the production of our wonderful backdrop and scrapbook.  Having spent so long growing flowers this year, we’re looking forward to getting our school garden back in shape ready to grow fruit and vegetables for the forthcoming year!
