A mixed Prep V and VI girls’ football team to the field this evening for their first competitive venture on to a football pitch. A naturally sporty bunch anyway, the girls had a chance to show of their dribbling, shooting, passing and tackling skills, as well as some great goal keeping, as their local teams came for a round robin tournament after school. While the results may not have gone their way, you can see from their smiles the girls enjoyed the experience – as well as the bountiful number of biscuits supplied by onlooking parents!

Special mention must go to our officiating team – Prep VI’s Jacob, Mason and Oscar. While the was no need for the red and yellow cards the boys had been frantically making during break time, the boys refereed well and were praised by watching parents for their encouragement of the girls during the games.

Well done all!

I enjoyed the football even though I have never really played it was fun and we had a laugh. We did very well and Ayesha scored a great goal. The boys did well refereeing and did a great job. I didn’t want to do it at first but afterwards I was glad I had because it was very enjoyable and I think I did quite well. Mrs Tunney did great organising it.
