Our U11 football team – predominantly Prep VI but ably supported this time by Prep V’s Albie and Alex – sought to build on their recent ISA success in the AJIS 5-a-side competition.

They navigated their group stage unbeaten: 1-0 vs. Cheadle Hulme B; 0-0 vs. Bolton; 3-0 vs. Scarisbrick; 1-0 vs. King’s Chester.

In the semi-final, a tough game against Birkenhead ended 0-0. The dreaded penalties, but a fine save from Jacob saw Bridgewater win the shootout 3-2 to progress into the final.

The final started well, with the team going 1-0 up, but Cheadle Hulme came back to run out 3-1 winners. Still, a fine performance – well done to the boys.

This was one of my favourite tournaments we played so good and penalties were nerve racking but me Oscar and Keane all scored our penalties when we scored in the final I thought we had won it but unfortunately we didn’t
