The football season kicked off on Tuesday evening with the Prep 5/6 team taking on a strong St Stephens team from Bolton.
Despite the early possession and chances Bridgewater found themselves 2-0 down after 10 minutes following a couple of break away goals from the Bolton youngsters.
However, the team remained calm and continued to press and dominate the ball and the chances finally started to be converted with some excellent finishing from striker Daniel Lord and captain Archie O Neil, Bridgewater went into half time with a deserved 4-2 lead.
As the second half developed Bridgewater took a firm grip on the game and scored regularly and at times with ease. Goals from Daniel Lord,Archie O Neil, Harrison Axon and Oliver Andrejczuk took the team into a comfortable position in the game allowing the whole squad to get a much needed run out. The goal of the game came in the last seconds as a flowing move from keeper Matthew Houghton and involving 5 players resulting in a tap in for Ethan Ashadu sealed an impressive win for the Prep 5/6 team.
Next up is a tough AJIS tournament at Kings School. Chester on Friday and a first AJIS game versus local rivals Clarendon Cottage on Tuesday 26th September at Bridgewater School,
