On Friday 7th February the Prep Department celebrated National Number Day. We supported the charity NSPCC by ‘Dressing up as Digits’ and donating money to this very important charity.
The children were asked to come in non-uniform but make their clothes ‘numbered themed.’ Some of the teachers got involved and as dominoes, playing cards and even the characters from the 118 adverts from long ago.
In addition to this (excuse the pun) the children took part in some fun Math’s activities to celebrate everything about ‘number.’ Activities included – number hunts outside, ‘bean bag hop-scotch addition’ on the playground, bingo games, using playing cards to help with addition, solving mystery problems using number problems and number songs and dances.
Children from Prep III to VI also took part in a special challenge on TTRockstars competing against other schools to see who could score the most points, putting our multiplication and division knowledge to the test.
The day was great fun whilst still learning about numbers!
A fantastic £325 was raised for NSPCC. Many thanks for your generous donations!

I really enjoyed wearing our own clothes for Number Day and I loved the maths puzzles and TTRS challenge we did! 🙂
