On Monday, Prep III took a step back in time and embarked on an unforgettable school trip to the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. Our mission? To uncover the secrets of the Romans and learn why Chester played such a huge role in Roman history!

We kicked off the day by becoming Roman soldiers (talk about a wardrobe change!). With shields in hand, we were ready to learn some Roman defense tactics. And guess who led the charge? Albie! He rallied the troops and led a fierce attack against the Celtic tribe—aka our teachers. Spoiler: The Romans definitely won! 💪

Then, it was time for a march back to the museum, but not without some Roman chants to keep the energy up. We sang “sin sin sin dec sin” (showing off our new Latin lingo…) as we walked proudly back into the museum, showing off our newfound soldier skills.

Once inside, we explored a treasure trove of Roman artefacts—from coins to tools, and even ancient pottery. The best part? We wrapped up our visit with an interactive workshop where we learned more about the fascinating history of Chester.

Of course, no Roman soldier would be complete without a bit of dress-up! Seth looked absolutely convincing in his full Roman soldier gear. But when we mentioned walking 20 miles in that outfit, let’s just say, his enthusiasm took a turn. 😅

Despite how busy the day was, we all had an amazing time and learned so much about Chester’s important role in Roman history. Huge thank you to everyone for making it such a fun and educational day! 👏 Well done, Prep III!
