Our Prep runners showed incredible grit and determination at the ISA Junior Cross Country Championships in Scarisbrick today, tackling an exceptionally muddy and undulating course. For some, it was their first time at such an event, and they embraced the challenge like true champions!
A special shout out goes to Annie, who earns our “Bravery Award” for falling head to toe in the mud, only to get back up and finish the race with a big smile on her face (should that be the ‘Persil’ Award? Other washing powder brands are available!). Rose also had her share of drama, losing a trainer mid-race but powering through to the finish line with just one shoe! Ben joined in the mud-tumble moments but showed great resilience in completing the course.
Among the highlights, Joe achieved an incredible 12th place out of over 150 runners, narrowly missing a top 10 finish – a huge achievement! And a massive congratulations to Florence, who finished 8th and has earned a place at the Nationals, where she’ll proudly represent the North of England. This is a truly well-deserved accomplishment after her hard work and dedication.
Well done to all our runners – we are so proud of your efforts, teamwork, and determination. What an unforgettable day!

I loved my first time running at Scarisbrick. It was incredibly muddy but I loved it! I was very proud to come 32nd place!
