On a wild and windy October afternoon 28 Prep 5 and 6 boys and girls headed to Rossall School, Fleetwood for the AJIS cross country championships.

0ver 600 runners took part in various races over the mile course along a coastal route that was a challenge to all participants who had to brave the weather as well as the distance.

The performance of the day came from Matthew H who finished an impressive 30th in a field of 150.  Harrison was next across the finish line in with the rest of Prep V all following to complete a good run for the team.

In the Prep V girls race Jessica (40), Evie (52) and Ellen (61) led the team home to a creditable placing in the overall race.

In the Prep VI boys race Kynan, Daniel and Archie were the top three finishers for Bridgewater as the conditions and the course became even tougher.

Finally the Prep VI girls took to the field and it was Eva L, Millie and Lilly who battled the wind and rain to bring the team home and complete a fantastic day for the Bridgewater youngsters.

The next cross -country event is on Saturday 4th November and is open to all Prep 3, 4, 5 and 6 boys and girls to enter. We hope to see as many of our youngsters there as possible. Well done today to all our runners!
