There was great excitement in Reception Class this week when Mr Rooney arrived with a letter from the Gingerbread Man! A video message had also been sent, challenging the children to design and create a boat that could carry the Gingerbread Man safely across the river, so he could escape the hungry fox.

The children embraced the challenge straight away and eagerly began folding, twisting, bending and squashing tin foil to bring their ideas to life. Some succeeded on their first attempt, while others reflected on their designs and made improvements for a second or even third try.

Throughout the activity, the children showed fantastic resilience and perseverance, never giving up. In the end, everyone successfully completed the challenge and was extremely proud of both their own achievements and those of their friends.
