We love celebrating the achievements of our students, particularly when we hear about some of the amazing things they get up to outside of school. Anyone who has watched the Prep III football team in action will have been impressed with Albie on the pitch, and it is no surprise to hear that Blackpool FC have snapped him up to be part of their youth academy. This past weekend, Albie travelled with his teammates to the training facilities of Arsenal FC, where Blackpool participated in a three-way tournament with Leeds United taking up the third spot.
As Albie says, “On Friday, I went to London with my family to play football against Arsenal football club with my Blackpool team mates on Saturday. When we got there Leeds United also had teams there. We played 6 games of 15 minutes against teams from Arsenal and Leeds. It was very intense but I played very well and really enjoyed playing at a high level. It was brilliant to play at Arsenal’s training ground the experience was great and I am very lucky to have been there.”
