This week has seen some great competitive action from our Prep sports boys and girls. Our older children were out and about on the netball and basketball courts, our Prep IV boys travelled to the Manchester City training complex for a tournament and then there was a great turnout for the first of this year’s Salford Schools’ Cross Country races. In addition, one of our Prep V dancers was active and successful for her own dance team…

Our Prep VI netballers, with a guest appearance from Prep V’s Beatrice, dominated their opposition St Marks RC, winning convincingly 15-2 and scoring some great goals. Florence fully deserved her Player of the Match accolades, but the whole team played well and continue to progress. Our U11 basketball team demonstrated some great skills in the ISA tournament at Ellesmere Port. They came third in their group, narrowly missing out on progression into the semi-finals – a one goal loss and drawing a very close match prevented their progress. They won all their other matches, scoring some great baskets. Despite the disappointment, it was a good team performance. Prep IV got to experience the joys of the Ettihad training complex, when they travelled their for a round robin tournament on Friday morning. No trophies, but the boys put in a great shift, worked hard for each other in the team and, most importantly, enjoyed themselves immensely. A beautiful frosty morning greeted runners for the first Salford Schools Cross Country on Saturday morning. Well done to all the runners that took part, for making the effort to get out of bed and to come and run. Special congratulations to Victor, who finished in 5th place in his race – Friday cross country sessions are obviously paying dividends for him! Finally, after a tough summer of training, Prep V’s Florence and her dance team – the Red Hot Flames – entered their first competition of the season at Bolton Arena, achieving first place in their category, Mini Elite Pom.
Well done all!
