This term we have been learning about all the amazing stories that Julia Donaldson has written. We had no idea when we first started just how many there are! Every day the children brought different books into school for their teachers to read to the class. Many children in our class could actually read them to us too! We learned about rhyming words as all the stories are poems!
On the wall, we have a fantastic frieze displaying many of the characters from Julia’s stories. Some are hidden for the children to find and some are impossible to hide such as The Smartest GIANT in Town and the Gruffalo!
The children loved the topic so much that they all drew their favourite characters from the stories. They were, Tyrannosaurus Drip, Superworm, Tabby McTat, The Gruffalo and his Child, The Smartest GIANT in Town, Room on the Broom, What the Ladybird Heard, Tiddler, The Monkey Puzzle and Zog.
What a fantastic literary experience we have all had!
