Prep I celebrated the end of their ‘Fire of London’ topic in the first week of this term….with a bang! The weather before Christmas caused a delay.
As part of our topic the children created their own houses in the style of the houses that would have been in London in 1666. We finally had a good day of weather to get outside and burn them down. This was a great opportunity for us to recap all we have learned in this topic which is always a favourite with the Prep I pupils. Mr Rooney came along to watch and was very impressed with the children’s knowledge and enthusiasm.
Many thanks to the the maintenance team for keeping us safe and starting the fire for us and then making sure it was put out safely.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it really brought the topic to life.
