After an ascent of England’s highest peak Scafell Pike in September 2022, and Wales’ highest peak Snowdon in May 2023, brothers Oliver and Nikolas completed their collection of the National Three Peaks by climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest peak and the highest of the three at 1345 metres on 17th June.
Mum reports, “After a 5am start on Saturday (17th June) and with a slow and steady climb, we all made it safely to the top of Ben Nevis. It took almost 15 hours in total and was a constant battle with the swarms of midges, but the weather was near perfect, and the boys were absolute troopers! By far the hardest and most tedious of the three peaks, we are so unbelievably proud of both the boys for completing this challenge. They have raised £1,675 (£1,845 with Gift Aid) so far for Cancer Research UK”.
For anyone who has been up any of these mountains, they will realise what an absolutely fantastic achievement this is, as none of these mountains are easy climbs. This is especially incredible when you think that these two are in Reception and Prep IV! Well done on the challenge, and also a fantastic well done for the wonderful fundraising as well. It’s not too late to donate to the boys’ cause – you can find their Just Giving page here: Oliver and Nikolas fundraising for Cancer Research UK
