Just how easy is it to measure the thickness of a tree trunk? Not very, is the answer, although Prep VI spent a tree-mendous morning using their mathematical knowledge of the circumference and diameter of a circle to find out. If you’d like to try this at home, you’ll need to measure the tree – not easy! – and then simply (!) divide the tree circumference by 3.14, or Pi. Mathematical knowledge is good but being able to apply it is even better, and Prep VI demonstrated that they could. Great fores-tree skills from the class – well done!
