What does music do to our imaginations? What does it look like? Prep II listened to ‘Neptune’ from Holst’s Planets – using their imaginations, they drew images, shapes, patterns, using different colours, to give an indication of what they thought the music looked like. Some wonderful interpretations that the children enjoyed explaining to their peers.

It is possible to draw music: using Chrome’s Music Lab, the children experimented with the pitch of notes to create their own piece of music, which they drew on the screen. The children were then given the theme of ‘Space’ and asked to create sounds and music to reflect this. Holst, look out! There are some wonderful composers in Prep II (and lots of aliens!).
