The summer holiday is an ideal opportunity for children to enjoy reading for pleasure. This website has extensive lists of suitable books for children of all ages, just click on ‘browse by age’ and make your choice. Books could be purchased from any book store on the high street or online, or alternatively could be borrowed from a library. The advantage of this site is that it includes several extracts which children can use to sample the books before they buy. This will help them to make the right choices.
I suggest that you encourage your child to try a range of genres during the next few weeks. This will ultimately enrich their vocabulary and creativity when writing.
