This morning Prep III went out to investigate the use of land in and around Worsley village as part of their Geography fieldwork. The children had to observe how the land was used and then categorise it into leisure, retail, service or residential. They also noted how open land was used and looked at the different types of homes. Next we recorded the traffic flow along Worsely Road and we were very surprised how few pedestrians and cyclists passed by compared to the volume of cars and vans, there were not many buses either! Before setting off back to school we sat down to sketch scenes along the Bridgewater Canal. They will use the sketches and information gathered to create a map of Worsley.
