Our U11s travelled to Greenbank School for our AJIS Cup match fixture, originally scheduled for November but cancelled due to extreme wet weather conditions.  There was some concern yesterday as to whether this fixture would go ahead again, due to the cold, but their pitch was unfrozen and on we went.

Sometimes you watch a game of football, and you wonder how the score is what it is.  We were 3-0 down at half time, but the majority of pressure had been ours and we had actually had more shots than the opposition.  Unfortunately, they scored with each of theirs.

There were no hair dryers at half time, but from the kick off we went straight down the pitch and scored – the team talk seemed to have inspired something, and it looked like a comeback was on the cards.  Sadly, it was not to be.  The game was end to end, but whereas we were peppering every part of the goal but the net, Greenbank put their chances away including one Mkhitaryan-esque effort from their big no.9.  We were watching a game that probably should have ended about 5-5 or 6-6; unfortunately it finished 9-2 in their favour.
