“Poetry is the journal of a sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air.”

Our winning performers.

So said the American poet Carl Sandburg, and how appropriate as all of our Prep children have been practising how to perform a poem to their classmates.  After a hotly contested classroom competition, three children from each class were selected to perform in front of the whole of the Prep Department.  The standards were extremely high, especially from some of our younger performers, and our judges had a hard time choosing the winners.  Well done to everyone who performed, both leading up to the competition and in the finals today.

Our winning performers were:

Prep VI – Michael Celino performing Jabberwocky

Prep V – Christopher Page performing Don’t Be Scared

Prep IV – Tavleen Kaur performing Poem (after PE lesson)

Prep III – Gabrielle performing It’s Not What I’m Used To

Prep II – Aysha Rajpura performing Ning Nang Nong

Prep I – Carter McMillan performing Phew

Reception – Blake Buckle

Kindergarten – Naeema Usman
