U9s exit AJIS cup

In their previous two games, our under 9s football team have recorded two comprehensive victories, but they faced a much more skillful and well organised team from The Grange today.  Our 3G pitch is a fantastic facility for the school, but with the high fence surrounding it, it means we have our own local rules – there are no stoppages in play, other than for free kicks and when a goal is scored.  Play is relentless.  Hence, in a 20 minute half, there is very little time indeed to pause and catch breath. Our boys ran their hearts out this afternoon, despite the goals racking up against them.  Their resolute defending prevented a bigger defeat, and they have to be commended for not giving up.  It wasn’t to be our day, but we will take the positives from the boys’ performance, and move on.  Good luck to The Grange in the next round.
